Ride with us

Better with a group behind you

A few times a season we get riders together and do Ontario properly, ATVs and UTVs on the trails, Sea-Doos once the water warms up. Some group days are dirt and some are water, so tell us what you ride. Put your name down and you'll hear from us when the next one is being planned. It's free, and you're never committed to showing up.

Why ride together

Nobody should learn a route alone

Most of what's on this channel got filmed solo first, including the day I got stuck in mud with nobody around, and the day the ski quit on Lake Simcoe. Riding with other people is more fun, and on both dirt and water it's the difference between a story and a bad afternoon.

  • All experience levels. First season or twenty years in. We ride as one group, at a pace the newest rider is happy with.
  • Known trails and new ground. A lot of what we ride is already on the channel, so you can see the terrain first, and some days we're scouting somewhere new together.
  • Someone to pull you out. Winches, straps, tools and extra hands on the trail, and a tow back to the launch if a ski quits on the water.
  • You might end up on the channel. Group ride days get filmed. If you'd rather not be on camera, just say so. That's completely fine.

The process

How it works

Four steps, no cost, and you can pull out at any point without explaining yourself.

Put your name down

Fill in the form below. Takes about a minute. We ask what you ride so we can plan routes that actually suit the group.

We plan the day

When a ride comes together you get an email with the date, the trail system or boat launch, where we're meeting, and roughly how long we'll be out.

You say yes or no

Reply if you're in. No reply needed if you're not. There's no pressure and nothing gets held against you.

We ride

Meet at the staging area or the launch ramp, quick rider briefing, then out. We ride as one group and regroup at the junctions, so nobody gets left behind.

Get on the group ride list

Mostly it's an email when a ride is being planned, plus the occasional channel update. Never more than that, and your details never get shared with anyone.

We need a name for the rider list.

Please enter an email we can actually reach you at.

Only used on ride day, if plans change at the last minute.

Pick the region closest to you.

Plenty of riders have both a quad and a ski, tick everything you own, and we'll invite you to the days that suit.

Let us know what you'll be riding.

Just so we can set a pace that works for everyone.

Most Ontario club trails need one. Details at OFATV.

Group days run better with a few people willing to help. No obligation, and you can say no on the day.

This is a rider meetup, not a guided service. Adventure Channel Canada doesn't provide guiding, instruction, insurance or recovery services. You're responsible for your own machine, licensing, permits and safety, including your Pleasure Craft Operator Card and required safety equipment on water days. If a trail or a crossing looks beyond you on the day, sit it out. Nobody will think less of you.

Group rides and the occasional channel update, nothing else. We never share your details, and one line in a reply gets you off the list for good.

Before you come out

Ride prepared, ride legal

Group days are casual. This isn't a club and it isn't a guided tour. Everyone who comes out is riding their own machine, at their own risk, under their own insurance, with their own permits and licensing. That goes for the trail and the water alike. A bit of prep makes the day good for everybody.

Bring with you

Different day, different kit. Check the one that matches the ride.

On the trail

  • A helmet that fits, plus eye protection
  • Current trail permit for the system we're riding
  • Tow strap, basic tools, tire plug kit
  • Full tank, plus a jerry can on a long day

On the water

  • Lifejacket worn, not stowed, plus your safety kit
  • Pleasure Craft Operator Card and registration aboard
  • Tow rope, and a phone in a dry bag
  • Enough fuel for the run home, not just the run out

Either way

  • Water, food and layers, Ontario weather turns
  • Charged phone, and a first aid kit if you have one
